If you want a highly experienced stove technician look no further. I have been working on classic stoves for over 40 years. I have experience with Okeefe, Merritt, Wedgewood, Gaffers, Sattler, Wolf, Viking, Garland, Tappan, Chambers and more.
About me.
I have been repairing stove since the 80s. My grandfather had an appliance business going back to the forties.
Now I didn't want to be another Appliance person but as things turned out I was homeless for a short time. Trying to go to school to become a plumber but being homeless made it too difficult for me. I need to find a job. in the early 80s there was a high unemployment rate so I ended up going to school for refrigeration repair and the reason why was not to work on refrigerators mainly but to get paid, they actually paid you minimum wage to go to school. Well it turned out it was really easy for me. Probably the first-time school was easy. I understood it well. l then when I got paid I had enough money to rent a room and so I did.
I met a guy in class by the name of arty who had a truck he could not repair quite as good as I could but I had no truck.
so we partnered up. Arty knew about an auction where we could buy refrigerators, fix them and sell them. So that's what we did. when I saved up enough $100 to buy my own truck I did.
So that's when I started my Appliance business.
I called local management companies to let them know I am repairing appliances and ran some advertisements. Other appliances I just learned as I went along and if I had a problem that I could not figure out, I would ask my uncle.
Now I have always liked old cars and over time I decided to just repair old stoves. These days a stove older than 10 years old is considered old but when I started, appliances back in the 50s or earlier was considered old. So now I primarily work on stoves that are 10 years old or older. Although on occasion I will work on newer stoves because newer stoves will become old stove one day.
